Summer Camp 2026 Highlights!

Week 1

What an incredible first week of camp! Our Maps & Adventure theme inspired campers to explore, create, and dream big.

Our young adventurers crafted pottery compass tiles, designed treasure boxes, created imaginative maps, made colourful flags, built beautiful hot air balloons, reflected on their adventures through mindfulness journaling.

From hands-on art and pottery to creative storytelling and mindfulness, every day was filled with learning, laughter, and meaningful moments.

We can’t wait to share more as our summer adventures continue.

Week 2

Our campers dove into an ocean of creativity and mindfulness this week! We made scuba masks, practised Scuba Breathing, created lots of fun under-the-sea crafts, and sculpted beautiful pottery fish mobiles. We also enjoyed pizza and freezies while making wonderful summer memories together!

Week 3

This week, our campers explored the value of patience through creativity, mindfulness, and hands-on learning.

Planting Hearts of Patience - Campers painted a beautiful tree and added their own origami hearts, each representing an act of patience and kindness.

Origami Creations - We folded a variety of origami animals, building focus, perseverance, and fine motor skills one fold at a time.

Calm Stones - Campers painted their own calming stones to take home as a reminder to pause, breathe, and stay present. We also encouraged initiative by inspiring campers to try new things, solve problems independently, and support one another throughout the week.

Every project helped our campers practice patience while expressing their creativity and growing in confidence.

Week 4

This week at The Mindful Elephant Summer Camp, campers explored Respect through mindfulness, creativity, culture, and craftsmanship, learning that respect begins with ourselves and extends to others and the world around us.

Mindfulness & Journaling - Reflecting on “What does respect look like?” and ways to show kindness to ourselves, others, and our environment.

Creative Explorations - Campers designed mindful pottery clay tiles, created colourful mosaic art, and explored craftsmanship through Kente paper weaving and Bosnia and Herzegovina-inspired bookmark weaving.

Cultural Art Adventures - Inspired by Aboriginal Dot Painting and Nek Chand’s Rock Garden, campers explored storytelling, patterns, and creativity.

Engineering Challenge & Cupcake Craft - Building, designing, problem-solving, and creating with imagination and teamwork.

A week filled with creativity, cultural appreciation, and mindful moments, helping campers grow confidence, respect, and pride in their creations.

Week 5

This week at The Mindful Elephant Summer Camp, campers went on a Wild Worlds Adventure, exploring deserts, rainforests, volcanoes, the Arctic, and the Northern Lights while learning how living things adapt to different environments.

Our mindfulness focus was Resilience-building aNever Give Up mindset! Campers created their own Resilience Shields with their personal motto, Who I Am, and Who Are My Helpers, celebrating their strengths and support systems.

Through Problem Solving, campers explored creativity and teamwork while creating Northern Lights canvases, desert cactus art, camels, volcanoes, rainforest parrots, Arctic penguins and igloos. They also designed Cactus Magnets in pottery, building patience and confidence.

A week full of exploration, creativity, and mindful moments-reminding us that resilience means believing in ourselves and never giving up!

Week 6

This week at The Mindful Elephant Summer Camp, we explored gratitude through music, creativity, and teamwork. Through journaling, campers reflected on the people and moments they are thankful for, while our collaboration activities encouraged them to work together, share ideas, and support one another.

Our Musical Expression Week was filled with rhythm and creativity as campers made their own rice shakers, drums, and flutes, enjoyed fun team-building shaker games, and worked together to build and decorate apiñata before breaking it and sharing the treats!

In pottery, campers created beautiful wind chimes, bringing together creativity, patience, and sound.

A joyful week filled with music, laughter, teamwork, creativity, and gratitude!

Testimonials

“As an educator, I am deeply grateful for Baljeet's unwavering dedication to teaching techniques focused on nurturing calmness and self-reflection in young children. Her steadfast commitment to imparting these vital skills has not only significantly impacted our children’s emotional well-being but has also equipped them with the resilience needed to navigate life's challenges. Witnessing the positive transformation in children under her guidance has been truly inspiring. I feel incredibly fortunate to have such a caring and dedicated educator guiding my students' journey.”

“The Mindful Elephant team provided a session to my Sparks Girl Guide unit (ages 5-6) this year and the girls LOVED it!  The team was patient and friendly which made the girls feel comfortable, as well as very organized which greatly helped us Leaders.  The girls were able to make a calming bead charm to take home with them as well as learning how to use it to take mindful breathes to calm themselves when upset.  A few days later when I was frazzled at home, my own Spark daughter took out the calming charm and walked me through using it!  I definitely recommend the Mindful Elephant.”

- Tara Monterroso, GEO

“The Mindful Elephant is a valued community partner with our school. Baljeet uses effective and creative strategies to support the wellbeing of staff, students and their families. When engaging participants who come from diverse communities and lived experiences, she operates with a deep ethic of care and respect. The impact of her services is evidenced in students' application of strategies to manage their own wellness. Inviting the services of the Mindful Elephant is a prudent investment in your school, community or company that you will not regret!”

-Elliott E. L. Thompson, OCT, Elementary School Principal

“I am deeply grateful for the learning and experiences I have had with The Mindful Elephant. Ms. Bains is incredibly knowledgeable and attuned to the art of Mindfulness and working with adults and children alike. Through her guided sessions, I have learned about focus and awareness of self, the power of breathing, and making connections to my body. As an educator, my students have benefited greatly from her guided sessions and the use of mindfulness tools such as breathing beads. Students have increased focus and have acquired self-regulation skills to support them through the learning day. As a mother, I use her calming jars and breathing beads with my children when they are overwhelmed or have big feelings. I now see them using these tools and breathing techniques they have learned with Ms. Bains on their own!”

-Kristen Mcginn OCT

- Mary -Sue Abela.

  - Adam (Student, Grade 3)

"I want to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude to Ms. Bains, who is an exceptional educator! As a teacher myself, I have not only had the privilege of working alongside but also learning from Ms. Bains over the last few years, and it has been an absolute pleasure. Ms. Bains is an attentive, caring, and true professional who always puts the needs of her students first. Ms. Bains has a holistic approach to teaching and focuses on supporting the mental health and wellness of all her students every day. Ms. Bains also brings extensive years of experience leading mindfulness across schools to families, students and teachers. Her sessions have impacted both educators and students, and everyone who walks through her doors is left with the thought in their mind, "When do I get to come back again?". Ms. Bains' dedication to her students is truly inspiring. If you have the chance to learn from Ms. Bains, I highly recommend it! “Baljeet takes you on a peaceful journey to serenity, with the use of a variety of our senses. She begins by inviting you to notice the feelings and sensations in your body that we ignore on a daily basis. You learn to release these tensions through deep breathing and visualization. Through the use of a plant, you begin to make connections to yourself growing strong, deeply rooted and bearing beautiful flowers. This was an amazing experience and a strong reminder to slow down, listen to our bodies and take care of ourselves, amidst our busy lives. Truly a life-changing and transformative session that you surely won't regret! Thank you so very much Baljeet!”

- Oliver Siu, OCT

“The Mindful Elephant is amazing. My child learned many mindfulness techniques she can use when needed. She took away her own tool kit that consisted of resources. She enjoys using these resources to manage her feelings and emotions.”
